"This is a totally different style of Tarot de Marseille as the usual white background has been exchanged for a colored one. The background resembles a old painting as the color is not uniformed. Each suit was given a color to match the season associated with the suit. Coupes/Cups in salmon for Summer Batons/Wands in green for Spring Epees/Swords in blue for Winter Deniers/Coins in yellow/green for Autumn If you're like me and this was already the way you were associating the seasons to the suits; you will be at ease with the backgrounds. The Majors also get a colored background. The only inconvenience with a colored background is that sometimes the image does not stand out as much. The cards are also a tad smaller than usual. The card stock is pretty good and the deck shuffles nicely. This is deck is inspired by the Paul Marteau deck but the faces and clothes have been cleaned up, the shading is done like in a painting with a blend of color instead of lines. Overall, a different but very nice deck to have beside a more traditional one."
