Great Karnoffel Deck
Posted by Lady Margaret on 9th Oct 2015
I am a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) which is a group that recreates the Middle Ages. I was scheduled to teach a class on Karnoffel which is one of the oldest European card games that we can name and have some rules to use to recreate. It used a 48-card deck just like this one. Also, I wanted cards that would be easy to play with yet still have a foreign feel. This deck was perfect. I purchased three of them and was glad that I did. I ended up with twelve people taking the class. They all seemed to have a good time and I look forward to using these cards to teach this again.

It's a 48-card Jass deck, but the indices are smaller than the Opti, which I use for regular Jass play; however, for Karnöffel and Kaiserspiel, this is a must! A Swiss deck just "feels" right for these games.
