Your one-stop Tarot gaming shop!

In our store you will be pleasantly surprised to find a variety of Tarot playing card decks imported to the U.S. from various parts of Europe: French Tarot Nouveau cards from France Cartes, Austrian Tarock cards from Piatnik, and Italian Tarocco (Piemontese, Bolognese, and Siciliano) cards from Modiano.  Please let us know if there is a special deck you think we should carrying by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page.  Our goal is to be your preferred source for all the different card types you need in order to be fully equipped for playing your favorite Tarot games!  Please feel free to drop us a line and let us know how we are doing.  Our aim is to please!

They're here!   We have just received a very limited trial supply of the classic 1JJ Swiss Tarot with French titlesfrom AGMuller of Switzerland.  This deck is commonly used for the games of Troggu and Troccas, both of which are popular in Switzerland, and a few adventurous American players have also tried it out.  (Consult the two web sites above for rules to both of these games.)  Though this deck was once readily available in the states, U.S. Games Systems evidentally assumes we would rather this classic deck be in English, so that is currently the only way they are offering it.  However, if you are a purist like me, then the original French titles are for you!  If we find that there is a large enough demand for this deck in French, we will be happy to import more and make it a permanent item in the store.  If you have been looking for this version of the 1JJ Swiss deck, then be sure to join our mailing list or check back often in order not to miss this deck if you have been looking for it!  And again, feel free to communicate your thoughts about this via email.

Wait a minute here!  Could we really be trying to tell you that you can play games with Tarot cards?

That's right!  Amazingly, while most of us in North America are familiar with Tarot cards and their use as a fortune-telling device, few of us have ever learned the fact that these cards were not originally intended for this purpose at all!  In fact, history indicates they were invented in Northern Italy about 600 years ago for use in playing a particular class of card game!  This fact is well known in many parts of Europe where these games are still played.  It is a shameful situation, really, that these games, which have been proven to be the forerunners of many of today's most popular games, including Bridge, Spades, Hearts, and Euchre, have been virtually unheard of in the U.S. and indeed, most English speaking countries!

However, in recent years, they have slowly started to creep into the American consciousness. In fact, for the last several years, the popular software title Hoyle's Card Games has featured the French game of Tarot right alongside Gin Rummy, Canasta, Poker, Euchre, and other more common games.  Also, there are sites on the internet where French Tarot and other Tarot games can be played against opponents all over the world.  Today, there are even some presented in English, which just a few years ago was absolutely unheard of!

Though these games have started to catch the attention of people in the U.S., the cards used to play these games have been VERY difficult to find domestically.  Usually, one has ended up ordering them from overseas and paying outrageous shipping costs!  Well, the situation has finally changed!

This web site serves a dual purpose:

1.  To help you learn these games by providing links to the rules as well as to other related information on the internet.

2.  To introduce you to our American-based web store, where the various types of cards which are used for playing these games are made easily available, without you having to pay the ridiculous international shipping charges!
